Sacred Journey Inward

Your Only Job is to Love

Years ago I owned a motel/retreat center in these mountains. I lived in the main house. There was a huge tree outside my room. Squirrels loved it.

Around this time every year the squirrels would go into frenzy mode grabbing nuts for the winter. They would jump on the roof, and many times during the night, the nuts would fall out of their grasp and roll down the roof. I learned that the busier they were in their gatherings, the higher chances of a very cold winter.

They just know these things. And, if it was one of those early fall busy nights… I would worry about what was coming in terms of snow.

Those nights I would lay awake wondering if I would be stuck without water and electricity on the mountain. Their trekking up and down my roof would cause a tremendous amount of anxiety for the unknown near future.

It was silly. I had zero control of the winter. I had no way to change what would happen except to be prepared with supplies. I became a squirrel whisperer. I tended to their actions with loving care. And I would tend to my own care because of them.

This is where we are right now. We feel all this activity happening in the world. And all we can do is tend to our care. We have little control of what’s happening except to take care of ourselves and prepare in the best way possible. You know what you need to do.

I didn’t yell at the squirrels or insulted them. I didn’t shoot them. I didn’t get angry. I thanked them for letting me know that something was coming.

We are all in this frenzy together. Whether you know, or not know, there is a massive conscious shift happening. It's been happening for years, and lately it feels even more intense. Your only duty is to be diligent with yourself. Hold space for love. Do what needs to be done but don’t disgrace others. Love goes a long way. Hold space for the magic of the universe and the unknown. Ground yourself.

Send your energy to the planet and take care of what you know is your truth. Let your faith be as powerful as squirrels getting ready for winter.

I love you!
