Let Go of Keeping Score

Most folks keep a tally of behavior against others. She didn’t call me...I am tired of calling her. He didn’t take out the garbage...I’m not doing it again. I went to see her last time...it’s time for her to come here. He left the car on empty again...I am not filling it up. It’s always me that reaches out. Why do I have to always be the one to connect? And it goes on and on and on. Before you know you are keeping a list of do’s and do not’s from family and friends. And for what?If you miss someone, call them. If you want to see someone, visit them. If you just want to text and say “Hi!” do it. There is an excessive amount of energy utilized in keeping track of shit that means nothing. Ego is the one keeping tally...not your higher self. One of the most precious gifts my clients continue to teach me on their dying moments is that time is an illusion. They all have regrets for wasting precious opportunities. Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop putting off what you want to say, use or do. Take the nice towels and use them. Eat today on your beautiful plates. Sit in your expensive dining room. Today could be the last time you get to do it.Stop keeping yourself from reaching out and doing things you want. Let go of the expectations. You are responsible for you! Forgive and move on. Life is too short. Live fully now. Love now. And please throw the darn list away!I love you.
