Stories
Stories....
We tell them. We collect them. We live them. We believe them.
Do you ever find yourself making up stories in a particular situation?
Someone didn’t call you and you create an entire scenario with protagonists and antagonists. You bring in all sorts of past history and experiences. Turns out the person was busy and had nothing to do with any of your assumptions.
How about the stories you create about you? That you aren’t lovable or pretty or intelligent enough to get the partner… or job?
That’s all ego creating scenarios and assumptions. Ego will keep you small and try and save you from going out to venture the world. Ego will keep you in tact by reassuring you that you shouldn’t trust or give of yourself.
Stories are powerful but the self-creating ones are dangerous. They hold us back. They strike anxiety and fear. They visit in the middle of the night. They end friendships and relationships. They truly are debilitating if you let them.
That’s old programming. To rework and readjust your worth requires some help. It requires you to believe in yourself. It asks that you be vulnerable and love all parts that make you. You need to stay in your light. The stories will continue to be created by your imagination, but at some point they won’t be ego driven. At some point, with lots of practice, you won’t allow the past to dictate how you perceive the present worth.
You are not alone on this journey. You are also not a victim. Stories make us. Don’t allow your old beliefs create ridiculous new stories that stop you from living a joyful life. You get to decide how your story ends. Make it a happy one. Or at least, make it one that leaves a legacy of love.
I love you… Millie
