Healing the Inner Child

Today marks my mother's 99th birthday, and although she left this world 15 years ago, her presence remains etched in my heart and soul. It has taken me these last few years to truly understand her, to fathom the depths of her love and her undeniable challenges. You see, I was the last child in our home, and my sisters had already embarked on their own journeys when I arrived.

In her mid-forties, my mother was a complex mix of love and difficulty. She demanded much from her daughters, and it was often hard to navigate her expectations. Yet, as I reflect upon her life, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for every lesson she bestowed upon me. It has become clear to me that we choose our families, our soul groups, for a reason.

In the past two years, I've delved into the profound work of healing my inner child. I've released the shackles of misunderstood childhood experiences, dived deep into the old wounds that once drew wounded souls into my life. I've come to understand why I was driven to protect and nurture those in need, to create safe havens for their inner children to thrive.

One of the most beautiful aspects of my journey is helping others heal their inner child. Often, my clients don't even realize that deep within them lies a mile marker from their past, wounds that sowed the seeds of belief systems that they carry unknowingly into their adult lives.

Through this journey, I've come to love my mother more than ever, for I've not only healed myself but also the parts of me that were reflections of her own struggles.
