Re-creation of Self
I heard a voice throughthe walls of night ask,"What is yourcontribution in this life…today, tomorrow, always?"So I went outinto the rain, meeting Spirit,in the middleof a field, embracing dropletsfrom the sky, allowing theclarifying, washing, diluting ofideas, demands, and perception. We met there in all of life,in the joyous drenches, releasing the pastand transporting meback to childhood,to what was momentousin retrieving my innocence.I heard once again,“I will hold your handas you free all restraintsof ego and self-doubt.” Then I realized…we’ve met here beforein every moment of letting go,accepting, forgiving, and loving. And now, we engage inthe rain to eraseall adjectives, prepositions, and verbswhile only affirmingthe pronoun-creationof “I am.”
