God Dwells Inside
When I need to connect to Source/God, I go write or create. It’s in the moments of mindfulness that I reach a state of deep connection and awareness. I feel that when we use our imagination we are just tuning into the esoteric spiritual realm.
We let go.
We release and surrender to something else.
We accept without allowing the ego chit-chatter.
We begin to feel vastness of space and time.
We realize that God dwells inside.
I was sharing something with a dear friend the other day. I told her that I felt writing is a catalyst of chaos. When I put something out there into the world, there is always an opportunity to be triggered or trigger another. It’s not done purposely. It’s just the way it is.
One of my favorite writing quotes is from Ernest Hemingway: “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
And that is okay! I am not responsible on how anyone interprets my words or creativity. Any form of creativity feels like birthing, like bleeding, like a tiny death at times. It takes all of you because your energy is guided and moves rather quickly. Then we are empty for a tiny bit.
But why create? Because it is a way to connect. Connect to God/Source/Spirit/Higher Self. And it’s a way to affiliate, harmonize, and heal with others. For me, writing is this massive antenna that merges with a muse that is not my ego. Unfortunately, the moment I start to criticize or judge my work, I recognize Ego is in the house.
However, the scrutiny (or possibility of being truly seen) stops so many folks from creating and putting their work out there. They worry about how it will be perceived. They also don’t want to step into that space of pure vulnerability. What I’ve come to learn the last few years is that people resonate with rawness. They understand and feel authenticity through the openness. They feel the knowing that God does dwell inside of them and is touched by others through what they experience in the external world.
Your work, whatever vehicle you use, is a message to the world. We get to use it to raise the frequency of the planet. We get to allow another to feel connected, or at times to disconnect, from what they are experiencing.
I remember when I read Elizabeth Gilbert’s, Eat Pray Love, and this quote about God dwelling. It stopped me. I love how easily I can access God when I step away and become mindful. Through writing, I get to access that daily. I started painting again after decades of not picking up a brush back in October. This has also been a massive release of old stagnate energy. It’s been beautiful to witness how I feel when creating.
How about you?
What are you creating?
What’s holding you back?
And, what will it take to let the Creator energy finally move through you without censoring it?
I love you.
