I have a thing about monks... and Buddha's.

It’s not a religious belief as I have a compilation of many beliefs from world religions and dogma.

It’s the peacefulness. Or, maybe the selflessness they convey and portray.

I don’t really know. It may be a past life association. Nonetheless, images of young monks put my body in a state of blissful tranquility. Their bright robes and shaved heads depict simplicity at its best. They look content.

There is a sense of egoless-ness transpiring from the image. And, there is presence.

I have a tattoo of a Buddha on the inside of my left arm. I made sure the tattoo was designed that I would see it right side up. When I’m stressed, I make sure to look at it. It also represents the Sacred Journey as it has a unalome on the bottom of the Buddha. In Buddhism, the unalome symbol represents the path to enlightenment. To me, it’s the journey of our lives. It’s all the paths full of struggles that get us to a place of spiritual expansion.

Today, I wish you presence. I wish you love. I wish you connection. May you return to simplicity and the deep awareness that the best gifts are those we give from our hearts.
